Does Smedge work with Windows Vista?

Yes it does. Please note that Vista has changed some of the default permissions, however, and the shortcuts to start and stop the engine will only work if an administrator adds that permission to your account, or changes the permissions to access the Service Control Manager. If you can access the Services Control Panel (still available in "Classic View" in the Control Panel), you can start and stop the services manually that way. You can also use the Windows 'SC' command line utility (if you have permissions to do so). We recommend that you keep the services running all the time anyway. Starting and stopping them is not necessary, and slower. If you need to enable or disable an Engine from rendering, you should just use the "Enable" and "Disable" commands in SmedgeGui or in the Engine command line Shell. See the User Manual, page 28 and page 70 for more information.
