Happy New Year! January 03, 2013
Congratulations to us all for surviving 2012! We are looking forward to the next release of Smedge in the next few months, and there are some new and exciting changes coming later this year that I am looking forward to sharing with the world.

Best wishes from us here at Uberware that 2013 is a happy and prosperous year for you all!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! November 22, 2012
We here wish you all the best for the holiday weekend.

I will be spending the weekend with my 3 month old son, who I am most thankful for this year. My availability for technical support will be quite restricted for the holiday weekend, so please try to keep your emergencies from happening until Monday.

Happy Turkey Day, and safe travels wherever you are!

Smedge 2012 Update 2 is available! September 05, 2012
The latest update to Smedge is available for immediate download. This version fixes a few issues in the latest Smedge, and adds some more powerful control features to the power management system.

See the downloads page for links for all available platforms

Vote for Smedge to win a small business grant from Chase June 18, 2012
Chase is making a $250,000 small business grant available to small businesses with popular support. I need your help to make Uberware eligible for this, to help push our development forward!

I need your vote by June 30, 2012. To vote, follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to http://www.missionsmallbusiness.com
  2. Log in with your Facebook account information
  3. Search for "Uberware" in the state of Washington
  4. Click "Vote" to support.

Be sure to vote and tell all of your friends to help out as well. We have to get 250 total votes by the end of the month to be considered for the grant. Your support can help Uberware to hire more programmers, improving the economy and reducing unemployment, and getting your favorite render farm manager ready faster and better than ever.

Thank you, -robin

Windows system control scripts are missing from the distribution May 14, 2012
Unfortunately, the scripts that implement the machine control on Windows (the sleep/reboot/shutdown functionality) are missing from the Windows distributions. They are missing from both the MSI installer and the ZIP file for Smedge 2012. Sorry about that.

The scripts are now available online for downloading. The distributions will be updated with the next release. Let me know if you have any questions or problems.

See this post for links and instructions for downloading the missing scripts

New Server... in progress March 08, 2012
Hi everyone.

We have recently updated our main server to an entirely new machine. As is often the case in these kinds of changes, there are a few remaining technical issues. You may see the page formatted incorrectly on some browsers, and you may see a warning about an invalid security certificate. Also, as our email is also handled by this server, please have patience for any emails you may have sent today, and try sending them again if you don't hear from us shortly.

Rest assured, your security is just as important to us today as it was yesterday, when our certificate was perfectly fine. This is just an issue about ensuring that the correct new machine name and address are being used by the certificate, and it should be resolved shortly.

As for formatting issues, they seem to be both somewhat platform and browser specific, and highly inconsistent as well. (Firefox on Windows looks great, but Firefox on Linux is looking a little weird right now.) We are trying to track down the issues and should have the page layout sorted out shortly.

If you see any weird website issues, please let us know what page you were looking at, as well as which browser and platform you are using. If you have any trouble contacting us by email, try contacting me by IM or posting a message on the forums, or give me a phone call.

Thank you for your patience and help,
-robin
