Smedge can look for error strings in the text output from rendering programs and will report the work as failed if they are detected. However, sometimes the errors are benign, and you may want to ignore them. The best bet is to resolve whatever is causing the error in the first place. However, if you cannot do this, you can work around it in one of two ways: by Job or by Engine.
By Job means that the particular Job will have error text detection disabled, but no other Jobs will. You can do this by following these instructions:
- Open the Submit Job Window for the Job.
- Click the "Advanced" tab
- Scroll down until you see the "Detect Errors in Output" field.
- Set the value to "No"
- Click OK to close the Submit Job Window and accept the change.
By Engine means that the Engine can ignore output errors for all Jobs of a particular Product. You can do this by following these instructions:
- Select the Engine or Engines you want to modify in the Engines list of the main window.
- Select "Configure Product Options..." from the Engine menu or context menu
- Select the Product you want to disable error text detection for from the list of products.
- Scroll down until you see the "Detect Errors in Output" field.
- Uncheck the box.
- If you selected more than one Engine, click the red arrows button next to the Product to transfer this setting to all of the selected Engines.
- Click OK to close the Configure Engine dialog box and accept the change.
If your Jobs have hit their error limits, you may need to reset the error count. You can do this by selecting Reset Job Error Counts from the Job menu, or Reset Engine Error Counts from the Engine menu.
